Langley FC Now Offering Boys Youth and Boys Premier Programs

Langley, BC – Langley FC is excited to announce that it has added two new boys’ programs to their club – a boys’ EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League (EABCSPL) program and a boys’ youth program from U5 – U18. The new boys’ programs compliment Langley FC’s existing girls’ youth program they have offered for many years and the girls’ Premier League program Langley FC has had in partnership with Magnuson Ford Mariners FC since the Premier League launched last year.

These additions to the Langley FC soccer club build upon the recent merging of the Langley mens’ club (LUFCA) into the Langley FC club completing Langley FC’s strategic goal of offering “high quality, life-long soccer experiences” for all female and male players of all ages and abilities all in one successful club within the Langley community. Over the past five years more then 30 girls have earned scholarships to play at universities and colleges all over North America from their development through the Langley FC system. Now those same opportunities will be available for boys.

“Our club members and many other parents in the community have been asking us to offer boys’ programs and we’ve listened to them and delivered on that,” said Cindy Andal, Langley FC President. Andal added, “Like our female players, male players now have the ability to play soccer throughout their lifetime in one successful soccer club where they will receive an enjoyable and high quality soccer experience.”

The addition of the boys’ EABCSPL Premier League Training program was finalized in a meeting held on January 15 with franchise partners Magnuson Ford Mariners FC, Chilliwack FC, and Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club. Langley FC was granted entry into the Fraser Valley Youth Soccer Association on November 28, 2011 for boys’ league play in the soccer season that begins September 2012.

“Langley FC’s success in the girls’ Premier League pilot season has proved that we can also offer a successful boy’s Premier League program and we are pleased to further partner with the Magnuson Ford Mariners FC to provide access for players from Langley, Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley,” commented Regan Mostat, VP, Soccer Operations for Langley FC.

Langley FC Premier League female players on U13, U14, U16, and U17/18 teams played games across the province and performed well in their pilot mini‐season, leading to the logical addition of the boys’ teams especially now that Langley FC offers a boys’ youth program. It’s planned for the boys Premier League teams to train and play out of Langley to make use of the high quality fields, facilities, and central location Langley offers. The first full season of BC Soccer Premier League competition will begin in late February 2012 and continue through November. It will feature male and female divisions at the U13, U14, U15, U16, and U17/U‐18 levels, equating to approximately 1600 players.

“This is another exciting evolution for Langley FC as our club continues to grow and succeed in many areas. Langley FC is truly living up to our motto of One game. One club. One goal.,” added Mostat.

Langley FC is holding an information session for these new programs on January 30th at the Rotary Fieldhouse at the MAP turf field and stadium complex (Macleod Athletic Park). Visit the Langley FC website at www.langleyfc.com to learn more about this and other recent announcements, and about registration for these and other programs.

The Langley FC is the only soccer club in Langley to follow the Canadian Soccer Association club charter of offering life-long soccer opportunities for both females and males. The LFC compliment of programs now includes: girls and boys youth recreational and competitive programs, women’s and men’s programs, girls’ and boys’ BC Soccer Premier League programs, Spring Soccer programs, an Academy Training program, and a variety of small training camps and activities year-round such as spring break camps, summer camps, and others.
